Pan Am Torch Relay

Yes, I know that I am developing a very bad habit of making multiple posts in one night but I have not been feeling 100% so I am trying to take advantage of my downtime when not feeling blaah.  Hopefully I will be able to break the pattern in the coming weeks.)

On Wednesday night it was Miss E’s band night.  As luck would have it, her band practises at the same location as the PanAm Torch Relay.  So…we managed to squeeze both in which means that we got to see Elvis Stojko!  Happy mom and happy child.

Big Top Fun

Kicked the summer off with a visit to the circus.  Both girls loved it and we spent an evening together full of smiles.  You know that you are a mom when during each of the aerials acts I was thinking please don’t fall, your mother would be so sad.  Sigh, had fun nonetheless.

Waiting for it to begin.

Then we had our elephant ride and Miss E's eyes were as big as saucers.

See, high up and no hands. Wonder how this will play out when we next hit the park.

Strawberries and Water

Just before my allergies hit with allergies (got to love tree pollen) we had a bit of outdoor fun…Strawberries.  Big, juicy, red goodness and two happy girls plus a fridge and freezer full of berries. Oh and we also went back to the splash pad.

An SK Graduate

Our Little Miss E is almost a Grade 1 and that means her years in Kindergarten are drawing to a close.  Of course, the end of Kindergarten brought with it a graduation.  Sadly neither Glenn nor I were able to rearrange our schedules to attend.  :(  Luckily Auntie Karen and Cousin Dalia were able to attend.  This resulted in a rather happy little girl (as you can see in the photos).  Two months and then off to Grade 1!

Splashpad Fun

I bring you some big news.  Our Miss E went in a splash pad.  In fact, she got completely and utterly soaking wet!

When she told me that she wanted to go in the splash pad I thought why not…how wet can she get.  I mean, the past four summers she has barely stuck her toes in.  That has changed.  She ran, she jumped, she smiled, she laughed and got thoroughly soaked.  I brought a delightfully wet little girl home this afternoon.

Yippee!!! This may just turn out to be the summer of the splashpad.

Elvis has left the building

We started off June with a celebration. Grandpa turned 70 or as he said, he is aged like a fine scotch.

The day started with dad and Scott out in the backyard with the kids and Scott’s new metal detector.  They had a lot of laughs and the kids really worked hard digging but they didn’t find anything.  However, the hole that they dug ended up being useful for the putting practise that followed.

In the evening it was off to PARTY with family, friends and Elvis.  It was a blast. (As the pictures show)  We got to dance, eat and most importantly visit with great entertainment.

Happy birthday!
